So my best friend from forever Becky tagged me with this marriage questionnaire. It's pretty fun, and I'm pretty sure we won't need to go to counseling after Dan reads this.
How long have you been married? 11 years August 9th.
How old is your spouse? 33, but he has more gray hair. And always will. :)
Who eats more? He does, unless it's ice cream.
Who said I love you first? He did. Then he got really embarrassed--so cute!
Who is taller? He is.
Who sings better? Neither of us; can I nominate the kids? He thinks he sings better than me, but he's off a lot. We both love music; we just can't sing it. So very sad.
Who is smarter? We are both extraordinarily smart (wink, wink). I'm better with language and therefore win every argument. He is better at higher math, but I can figure sales percentages in a snap. And he's better at understanding words when they are spelled aloud; with me it's like a handicap. He'll spell out something that he doesn't want the kids to hear, and I cannot for the life of me figure it out.
Who controls the T.V. remote? Usually me--a hang up from being raised by a TV-controlling father. But we usually like the same shows, so it works out okay. And we DVR anything the other doesn't like (such as "Ghost Whisperer" for me--total cheese, but I still watch, and "Mythbusters," "Survivorman," etc. for him--I can only take Bear in certain quantities).
Whose temper is worse? Ahh, that would be mine. But he has one too, it just takes a lot to get it to come out and then he does it passive aggressively. And in my behalf, mine has mellowed considerably since marrying him.
Who does the laundry? Mainly me, but he helps a lot.
Who does the dishes? Mainly me, and for the record, I am the greatest dishwasher loader in the world.
Who cooks dinner? Both of us. But to be honest, we've been doing a lot of pancakes, hot dogs, scrambled eggs, and frozen pizza for dinner lately (we've even done, gasp, cold cereal). Does that even count as cooking?
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? He does. And we never cuddle--I don't even like to be breathed on when we are sleeping.
Who is more stubborn? We're about equal on the things that are really important to us. I probably have more things that are really important to me than he does (ie, towels are folded THIS way).
Who is the first to admit they're wrong? Usually he does; remember, I win every argument! :)
Whose parents do you see the most? We live close to both, so we see everybody fairly regularly.
Who has more friends? Probably me, since I have more time to catch up on the phone. But I swear, everyone who has ever met him likes him. Sometimes I am an acquired taste.
Who has more siblings? Me--I've got two sisters and two brothers. He has a brother and two sisters.
Who wears the pants in the family? He does. But I also wear pants, and I wear dresses and skirts. I totally beat him in the wardrobe department.
And now for the nominees: I tag Valerie, Sara, and Sara R., she's finally got a blog!
